Oh Brother

Try as I might, but it never fails.  When someone’s attitude is more on the negative side, aimed towards other people in the household – yes, it affects me, and I will react accordingly.  I know it’s not about me, but can’t help to react verbally defensively.  The movie, “Multiplicity”, just came on TV.  This movie came on at the perfect moment.  I truly believe it was no a coincidence!!  If you haven’t seen it yet, please put it on your “To Do” list.  That person has calmed down now, but now I need to reach that lower level.  Give me strength!!  Thanks for letting me share my venting.

What do you all do when someone starts “attacking” emotionally out of the blue?   When actually the main purpose or goal was to ask for help?

Meet n Greet!

Reblog from DreamBigDreamOften.com. A great opportunity to meet new folks in the blogger community.

Dream Big, Dream Often

By the time you read this I will have been on the road for several hours!!  We have talked recently about the importance of networking and meeting new people, so here’s your chance.  Feel free to leave a link to your blog post or page and a little info about yourself in the comments and then reblog!  Great way to network.

For those of my readers that are not bloggers take a few moments and scan the links in the comments as there are so many talented writers on WordPress.  One of my favorite things about WP is it serves as a social platform allowing me to discover so many talented individuals!

I have never done this before, but figured what better way to spend a Sunday than helping others expand their readership??!!  After all, I met so many of you through a similar meet n greet on OM’s page…

(The Ladies Incognito)

It’s a rare occasion that I get to meet up with my girlfriends.  I’m talking friendships lasting well over 30 years!  Although my visit was very brief compared to the rest of them, I will always cherish these special moments.  I consider it a miracle that we can juggle our forever busy schedules to actually get to spend quality time together.  Life long friendships are my little blessings.  ♡

When I’m done with my work week and I come home, my daughter never fails to greet me at the bottom of the stairway when I walk through the door!  She’s so excited to see me!  She tells me how much she’s missed me all week and can’t wait to catch up on all the week’s events.  She has limited speech, but I understand her completely.  She smiles at me with her big, brown eyes and then hurriedly walks up the stairway with me.  I can hardly put my bags down when she immediately wants hugs and kisses.  After a brief exchange of affection, I tell her to let me put my things down and out of the way, then I’ll be right back.  I tell you, this girl hardly has any patience. Who am I kidding, she has NO patience!!  I sometimes feel like I’m being scolded by her, you know, by the tone and pitch of her voice.  She acts like the world should evolve around her and her alone.  Girls.  Can’t live with them.  Can’t live without them.

By the way, did I mention my daughter has four legs and is almost eleven years old?  She’s my only daughter, and I love her very much!! 😀

sillyus copySo happy that we decided to have an impromptu rendezvous!  No, this photo was not the result of our encounter!  I chose this photo-booth photo in honor of tradition for social media’s #FlashBackFriday.  I feel that it captures our never ending, young-at-heart, twenty-five plus years of marriage, kind of relationship.  He still makes my heart go pitter-patter, and I melt every time he first enters the room.  Don’t get me wrong, we’re only human and we do have our moments, but for the majority of the time, we get along just splendidly!  We have to work it, baby, to make it work!!  Peace and love, out!

The Compliments

Over-worked, short-staffed, body aches, and very tired.  Oh, but this just describes another day in my life while at my day/night job (I mean, my career).  Lord only knows how I keep my sanity!

Rewind to a few days ago.  I was having a conversation with my teenage son about planning my next transition into a new career.  If all goes smoothly, this will happen next year when I turn the big 5-0.  I’m excited with anticipation, looking forward to new challenges, experiences and meeting new people.  I don’t know how else to explain it, but I feel like I’m going to get a new toy or something.  Better yet, the feeling of being told to go on a shopping spree without a budget!  YES!!  So, my son tells me that I’d be perfect at my next career job because I’m so professional.  Compliment number one of the week!  Basically, my son is referring to my office voice, which both my sons make fun of on the rare occasion.  What I do well at, is being able to lose my SoCal Valley Girl slang, and actually annunciate the verbiage coming out of my man-pleaser (I mean my pie-hole) while I am at work, or on the phone at home conducting business.  Shut up!!  I know, right??!!

Fast forward to last night.  Again, over-worked, very tired, achy, etc., you get the picture.  A co-worker enters the office, and we all make small talk.  After sharing my anticipation of a career move, he, yes I said HE, was surprised of my age!  He gave me the scrunching-eyebrow-raising look, and preceded to tell me that he thought I was ten years younger than my actual age.  Compliment number two!!  I never feel the need to lie about my age because it’s just a number.  I’m young at heart and of mind.  My sons tease me about liking music that teenaged girls would like.  To that I say, “Damn straight!”  It’s my body’s joints that need a good oiling for better mobility and to stop the cracking sounds.  Hell, I’ll admit it, Ben Gay can be a lifesaver!

Today’s lesson and a reminder to everyone, kind words and out-of-the-blue compliments can make someone happy inside.  As you can see, it works wonders for me!

Peace, love and Bobby Sherman. ❤

OMG for #20!

A BIG THANK YOU to all who have taken the time to follow me!  I feel like I’m just a quiet, working mom and wife who loves to dabble in writing when I have the spare time.  I may not be as well-versed as some of you very talented bloggers out there, but I try to make y’all laugh, the way I can laugh at myself!

This River

This river is absolutely breath-taking.  This river radiates beautiful, cooling, relaxing sounds, and represents such tranquility where words are hard to describe.  This river is full of adventure for people of all ages who want the thrill of excitement galore.  This river brings new comradery among complete strangers, coming from all over the nation, who also have the same desires and goals of having fun.   This river is strong, with great, intense power that can overtake anyone who dares to challenge it.  This river can bring relationships much closer together, or escalate stress into chaos amongst even the best of friends.  This river is a watering hole for families and friends to gather and enjoy what the great outdoors has to offer.

Well, enough about me.  What did you do this 4th of July?  (If you’re in the U.S.A.)
